Industry leading technology

By utilizing industry leading technology designed and manufactured by Wavetronix LLC, Hilleary’s systems caught the attention of several Class 1 Railroads and the Federal Rail Administration. Working closely with BNSF and other Class 1 railroads through testing and proving his system, Hilleary established the use of a redundant radar system at grade level crossings to improve the crossing safety at four quadrant gate locations leading to Island Radar gaining FRA approval (CFR 49 subpart H approved product) for level crossing safety.

New Beginnings

Recognizing that Wavetronix and Island Radar shared a complementary common vision to improve traffic safety and efficiency, Wavetronix purchased Island Radar in 2018. Wavetronix quickly added senior staff to the Island Radar team to bring the advantages of advanced engineering development as well as market development and support to the company.
